This is a superb example of the Wrenn W2209/A "Great Snipe" Class A4 Locomotive in LNER Apple Green, running number 4495.
Introduced by Wrenn, Basildon in 1981, only 421 models were issued before closure in 1992. A much sought after Locomotive today for those collecting or running LNER passenger traffic on layouts. This is much rarer and slightly darker green than its Golden Eagle counterpart (W2209), and Great Snipe examples in this condition do not come up frequently these days. They tend to suffer from boiler lining loss but this example is in place. Has seen minimal layout use in my opinion..
Comes complete with Period 4 box, tissue, packing rings and blue Instruction Manual. The bottom of the inner box is stamped "Packer No 6 " in red ink indicating early Period 4, Basildon issue.(1981).
Condition of Locomotive/tender/box is "near mint ", considering their age.
