This is an excellent example of the Wrenn W2227 4-6-2 City Class "City of Stoke on Trent" in LMS Black, running number 6254. Introduced by Wrenn Basildon in Period 2 (Triang/Wrenn) they continued in production through P3/P4. They finished circa 1989 before Basildon closure in 1992. Most examples today are " play worn" due to continuous layout use, this example is not, has seen minimal layout use, and comes from the early Period 4 build.(circa 1980/1). As with all Period 3/4 Locomotives it has "metal rimmed" bogie wheels on the Locomotive and tender.

The Locomotive/tender comes complete with original box, tissue, packing rings,  kit and Instruction Manual. The base of the inner box stamped Packer No 6 stamp in red ink denoting Period 4 Basildon issue. 

Condition of the Locomotive/tender/box is "excellent to near mint" for their age.
