This is a superb example of the Wrenn W2241 "Duchess of Hamilton" 4-6-2 Locomotive without smoke deflectors in black LMS Livery. Running number 6229. Introduced by Basildon in 1977 this standard format was made up to 1986. Many from this era are "play worn", this is not, and has seen minimal layout if any. This was purchased from the original retailer and kept in a display cabinet over the years. As with all Wrenn P3/P4 locomotives it has "metal   rimmed" bogie wheels, ideal for the collection and/or running passenger traffic on your layout.

Comes complete with Period 4 issued box (circa 1981/2), packing rings, tissue paper, Hornby Dublo coupling conversion kit and blue Instruction Manual. The underneath of the inner box is stamped "Packer No 6" in red ink denoting P4 Basildon issue.

Condition is "near mint to mint" for its age.
