This is the RARE Wrenn W2238 "Clanline" 4-6-2 Merchant Navy Class Locomotive in BR Green. Running number 35028, with brass "ETCHED PLATES" not the more common paper version. Has seen minimal layout use in my opinion.

NOTE : All of the "etched plate" variants had the finer orange lining, and will have a date stamp on the underneath of the inner white box reflecting the 1987 - 1992 Basildon issue date. 

Only 102 of this version were produced between 1987 - 1992 (Period 4) and this is from the early 1989 build.

The Locomotive/tender comes complete with Period 4  box , and includes tissue,  packing rings and Instruction Manual. The bottom of the inner box is stamped " Packer No 3 89207" indicating 7th week, 2nd month 1989 as date of Basildon issue. .

Condition of the Locomotive/tender is "near mint  ", box is "excellent to near mint" for their age.
