These are two examples of the advertised Wrenn W5078 "Wilton Quarry" Hopper Wagons, running numbers "95" which never saw the Wrenn, Basildon production line from 1980 - 1992. They are prototypes, with moulded self coloured plastic bodies (standard Basildon practice) with the "Wilton Quarry" name on one side only, the other left blank. Standard die cast chassis with pin wheeled axles and "metal rimmed" wheels for smooth running and reduced wear.
These are in late Period 4 genuine Basildon boxes but not numbered, the ends being blank.
Because of the success of Hopper wagons during the above period I find it difficult to understand why Wrenn did not issue these - the market was very buoyant at that time!
