The Hornby Dublo EDL7 SOUTHERN TANK  Locomotive running number "2594" in green fior 3 Rail operation.Produced by Meccano Ltd, Liverpool between 1938 - 1948, they were fitted with either pre - war or post - war couplings depending upon issue date. A noted feature is the notch in the buffer beam which was removed after the 2nd World War but original diecast bodies were being used up due to the shortage of materials.

The particular example shown I believe is from the 1948 build which coincided with the introduction of the "Dark Blue"  box form of packing.

Most examples today are badly "play-worn" this example is not and hence is RARE to find today in this condition.
