This is a superb example of the Wrenn W5002 "Selsdon Stables Bath" Horsebox in Maroon, running number E96435 with yellow letters. The "Foxhunter Championships" label on both sides has the date. This is not the White lettered "Selsdon Stables Bath" lettering on both or one side only issued in late Period 4.. The majority of the "yellow lettered" versions were produced in Periods 2/3 (just over 900) is claimed however based on my experience only a limited number has survived in this condition today and hence these are becoming RARE. A common fault is damage to the "Foxhunter" labelling but this example is perfect.
This example was issued by the Basildon factory in Period 2 and has plastic wheels..
Contrary to some opinions, none of the Wrenn Basildon Horseboxes (green or maroon) were supplied with "plastic horses" as the Hornby Dublo green versions were originally.
The Horsebox comes in a Period 2 (Triang/Wrenn) box with yellow plastic insert .
Condition of the Horsebox/box is "near mint" for their age.
