This is a great example of the Wrenn W2224A 8F Freight Locomotive in BR Black, running number 48290. This is rare compared to its W2224 counterpart. Introduced by Wrenn Basildon in Period 4 only (1982 - 1992) only 412 were issued by the factory. Based on my experience as a collector I believe the figure to be lower. This example is from the late 1989 build and has seen limited layout use. As with all P4 Locomotives it has "metal rimmed" front bogie and tender wheels.

Please note : Like some of the Wrenn range the "running number 48290" is included in the top box end stamps, and these were only issued in this format. Also the shed code "8F" is above the running number on both sides of the Locomotive.

Comes complete with original box, tissue, packing rings and blue Instruction Manual. The stamp on the bottom box "91143 " in black ink indicating 43rd  week, 11h month, 1989 as Basildon issue date. 

Condition is "near mint " for its age.
