This is a  superb example of the popular Wrenn W2219 2-6-4 Tank Locomotive in LMS Red, running number 2679. Introduced by Wrenn Basildon in Period 2 (Triang/Wrenn) era, several thousand were produced before closure in 1992.

Many today are "play worn", this example is not and has seen minimal layout use in my opinion.. As with all Period 4 Locomotives it has "metal rimmed" wheels on both front and rear bogies. This has the later LMS lining issued at the end of Period 3 into 4 onwards before factory closure in 1992. Becoming a Rare find today. 

Comes complete with original box, tissue, packing rings, and blue Instruction Manual. The bottom of the inner box has the red  "Packer No 3 08519" stamp indicating 19th Week, 5th Month, 1988 as Wrenn, Basildon issue date. 

Overall Condition of Tank Locomotive/box is "excellent to near mint", for their age.
