This is an excellent example of the Wrenn W2266/A "City of Wells" Golden Arrow Locomotive in BR Green, running number 34092. Please note this is the original Golden Arrow version with adornments. Also Note :The front G/A shield/fixing is drilled through the front boiler box not just glued on as the conversion kit provides. This was the standard Wrenn, Basildon factory practice on the Golden Arrow variants. As with all P4 Locomotives it has "metal rimmed" wheels throughout and has minimal layout use in my opinion.
This example comes from the early Period 4 Wrenn Basildon build (circa 1982). The factory at Basildon produced a total of 798 between 1982 and 1992 before closure, however to find them in this condition is becoming rare to find today.
The Locomotive/tender comes complete with Period 4 box, tissue, packing rings and blue Instruction Manual. The underneath of the inner box is stamped "Packer No 2 04240" " in red ink indicating 40th Week,1982, factory issue..
Condition of the Locomotive/tender/box is "near mint " for their age.
