This is a superb example of the Wrenn W2203A "Duchess of Rutland" Coronation Class Streamliner in LMS Maroon, running number 6228.
Introduced by Wrenn, Basildon in 1986, production only reached 96 according to records, however my view is the figure is far less. Withdrawn in 1987.The body is a Keyser kit finished by Wrenn on a modified Wrenn Chassis. Cab detail was included and all had 3 pole motors. Other examples of this Locomotive suffered from gold lining loss this does not!. Has seen minimal layout use in my opinion.
Comes complete with Period 4 box, packing rings, tissue, blue Instruction Manual and single page Instruction Sheet. Bottom of the inner box is stamped "Packer No 3 61249" indicating 149th Week, 12th Month, 1986 Basildon issue.
Condition of Loco/tender/box is "near mint", considering age..
ONE OF THE BEST EXAMPLES I HAVE SEEN OF THIS VERY RARE STREAMLINER!.
