This is a "near mint " example of the rare Wrenn W2225A standard 8F Class Locomotive in LMS Black, with the rare running number 8233. Only produced by Wrenn, Basildon, during Period 4,(1980-1989), production reached only 384 mainly with the yellow/light gold numbering/letters.
This example I believe is from the 1981/2 build when the full factory box stamp was available. Earlier versions had the "A" added in ink to the W2225 number on the box ends.
As with all Period 4 Wrenn Locomotives, front bogie and tender have metal rimmed wheels.
This is the "workhorse" for freight operations on any "OO" Gauge Layout, and/or to complete the collection!
Comes complete with early issue Period 4 box, packing rings, tissue, and blue Instruction Manual. The inner box is stamped "Packer No 2" in red ink indicating early Period 4 Wrenn, Basildon issue..
Overall Condition is "near mint" for its age.
