This and "Mallard" are probably the most popular of the A4,s that Wrenn produced through Periods 2/3/4. This example illustrated in the picture, is a late Period 3 version of the LNER Blue W2212 " Sir Nigel Gresley", running number 7. These had the the later Garter Blue paint finish compared to the Triang/Wrenn issues in my opinion.
Ideal for passenger operations on any "OO" Gauge Layout, and/or part of the collection. As with all Period 3 Locomotives, it has "metal rimmed" bogie and tender wheels throughout. This example has seen some layout use.
The Locomotive/tender comes complete with Period 3 box,(circa 1975/6), packing rings, tissue, Hornby Dublo coupling conversion kit and Instruction Manual. The bottom of the inner box has the familiar sellotape residue marks and "Packer No 3" stamp in black ink correct for this period issue.
Condition of Locomotive/tender/box is "excellent to near mint", considering their age.
NOTE : It is recommended that when purchasing the W2212, ensure that the front bogie wheel inserts are red and match the inner red of the driving wheels.
