This is an excellent opportunity to own the Wrenn W2230 BO-BO Diesel Locomotive in BR Green, running  D8017. Introduced by Wrenn, Basildon in late Period 3 (circa 1977) this continued in production in Period 4, although the majority of the build was seen in Period 3. This particular example is from the late Period 3 era.(circa 1978/9.Note : This diesel has the standard black plastic side frames and late BR crest. 

Very popular for B.R. freight operations on any "OO" Gauge Layout, and is preferred by some to its Hornby Dublo counterpart due to simpler design and no "stuttering" for layout operation.  

The BO-BO comes complete with original  box, tissue, packing rings, Hornby Dublo coupling conversion kit,  and correct single page instruction sheet. The bottom of the inner box has the familiar Sellotape residue marks denoting Period 3 Basildon issue.

Condition of the BO-BO/Box is " near mint"  for their age.
