This is a great opportunity to own the Wrenn W2226 "City of London" in BR Maroon Livery, running number 46245. The tender is plain maroon and has the later BR crest. Wrenn introduced this Locomotive in Period 2 (Triang/Wrenn Era), and it survived in production until closure in 1992, however "near mint" examples are difficult to find today as most have been "play worn" over the years. This example has seen minimal layout use in my opinion and comes from the 1981/2 factory build. .
The Locomotive/tender bogies have hard wearing "metal rimmed" wheels throughout, which were introduced in the late Triang/Wrenn Basildon build, the main driving wheels are metal as with all Wrenn Locomotives. .
The Locomotive and tender comes complete with original box, tissue, packing rings, and Instruction Manual. The bottom of the inner box is stamped "Packer No 6" in red ink indicating early Period 4 Basildon issue. .
Condition of Locomotive/tender/box is "near mint " considering their age..
