This is an excellent example of the Wrenn W2260/5P ( 5 Pole) "Royal Scot" in LMS Maroon, running number 6100. This is the 5 Pole version and one of only 80 issued by the Wrenn Basildon factory between 1986 - 1988. Prior to this retailers sent the 3 Pole versions back to Basildon for conversion and this example is one of those. The box end flap stamps have the 5P/5 Pole added using a John Bull stamp or pen. This approach was used up to mid 1987 I believe when the final box end stamp was directly used by Basildon factory on the plain box end flaps. As with all the Wrenn Scot range they have centre flanged wheels with triple pick up.
The underneath of the inner box is stamped "Packer No 3 04616" indicating 16th Week, 4th Month, 1986 as Basildon issue date. This is the second example I have seen with this code, prior to the use of the 1987 full factory stamp.
The Locomotive/tender comes complete with Period 4 box, packing rings, tissue, Blue Instruction Manual, and single Royal Scot Instruction Sheet
Condition of the Locomotive/tender/box is " near mint", for their age.
