This is the popular W2216 0-6-2 N2 BR Tank Locomotive in black, running number 69550. Introduced by Basildon in Period 2 (Triang/Wrenn) this survived in production through to Period 4 when Basildon closed. This example is from the late Triang/Wrenn, Period 2 era (Circa 1971), and has the earlier body transfers however in this condition is becoming difficult to find today. All lining/transfers in place.
Comes complete with P2 box, tissue, Hornby Dublo coupling conversion kit, packing rings, and Instruction Leaflet.
The N2 Tank Loco uses the well proven R1 motor, a stalwart performer during the Hornby Dublo and Wrenn, Basildon years. This design was also repeated in later years for Hornby on the 0-6-0 ranges..
The underneath of the yellow is stamped box is stamped "Packer No 6" in black ink and has the usual selloltape residue marks correct for Period 2 Basildon factory issue.
Overall condition of the Loco/box is "excellent " for their age.
