This is a superb example of  the very successful EDL18 Hornby Dublo 2-6-4 Tank Locomotive manufactured by Meccano Ltd for 3 Rail "OO Gauge" operation. Running number 80054. This is in Black BR livery with early BR crest. The Locomotive is fitted with metal H/D style couplings.. Paintwork/transfers are "near  mint" for its age.

Manufactured between 1954/1961 this was issued on "20 Nov 1954" according to the date stamp on the bottom of the inner box.  

The tooling used to produce this Locomotive was later used by Wrenn, Basildon.

The Locomotive comes complete with box, ALL PACKING PIECES ( including the internal top card) and instruction manual.

Condition of the Locomotive is "near mint", box is "excellent" for their age.
