This is a superb example of the Wrenn W2223 "Windsor Castle" in BR Blue, running number 4082. Introduced by Basildon in Period 3 this continued in production during Period 4 the main difference being highlighted transfers compared to its P3 predecessors. This example is from the early P4 build circa 1981/2. Many items are "play worn" this is not and has seen minimal layout use in my opinion.
This was the only Castle Class Locomotive that Wrenn, Basildon produced in BR Blue, and is very popular for passenger traffic on any "OO Gauge" Layout. The tender has the early BR crest and the Locomotive is powered by the standard high performance Ring field motor.
Comes in a Period 4 early issued box and includes tissue, packing rings and blue Instruction Manual. The bottom of the inner box is stamped "Packer no 6" in red ink denoting early P4 Wrenn Basildon issue.
Condition of Locomotive/tender/Box is "near mint" considering their age.
